JOB DESCRIPTION
WWJ (Newsradio 950)/Detroit is looking for a high-energy, solid news anchor who can write and report with strong news judgment. Must be a conversational and creative story teller who can develop major local and statewide stories and pursue newsmakers to enhance coverage for the station’s award-winning new brand. This person should also be active on social media and be able to host special projects, shows , etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required: Must have commanding on-air presence. Must be able to excel in breaking news coverage, while maintaining a strong journalistic background with an excellent broadcast voice and delivery. Must be able to work with experienced team to update copy and take complex information and make it easy to understand. Previous experience as an anchor and/or reporter in a news department is required. A valid driver’s license, a satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check is required, along with proof of insurance.

Preferred: expertise in digital audio production and computerized newsroom systems is preferred.
