Vernon Kelson 2015
So many Program Directors stress the importance of being active on social media to the talent they manage, but very few actually do as much as they are asking of personalities. Kelson‘s plate has been full as the PD/Afternoon Drive Talent at WIZF (101.1 The Wiz)/Cincinnati, but he maintains active and engaging accounts on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

After a year at the station, Kelson was recently elevated within Radio One to Operations Manager of Baltimore stations WERQ (92Q), WWIN (Majic 95.9) and WOLB-AM. While his social media skills were not cited as reasons for his promotion, understanding the power of social media, consistently promoting his show and station while remaining personable is becoming more appreciated as a free and impactful marketing tool.

Congratulations to Kelson on the promotion, and kudos to him for setting a great example for talent on social media.
