In depth knowledge of everything surrounding University of Georgia sports, especially football, plus basic knowledge of Atlanta sports, particularly Braves and Falcons is required. Your understanding of the overall sports universe, whether local/regional sports or events that are important to our listeners will help you land this unique job. Also having familiarity with any radio station automation system is helpful. The person in this role must have a natural ability to communicate clearly with conversation that will connect with listeners, while remaining focused. Duties include: planning, preparing and being on the air for a live, daily afternoon sports talk show. The person in this position will compile and deliver sports updates 3 times an hour, beyond just the live, local shift they will be part of. You will produce all station imaging under guidance of the Program Director. You must have the ability to follow a station/afternoon show plan and take coaching/direction. Other requirements of the job include but are not limited to: heavy involvement with cluster social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), voicing spots and production, meetings, brainstorming, running a control board and working independently or with a team. You will be part of at least one weekly podcast. You may be assigned additional responsibilities with other radio stations in the cluster. Ability to work some nights and weekends is a must.
