Lil Wayne’s move into radio as the host of Young Money Radio seems to be enjoyable for the man also known as Tunechi. He has almost a dozen interviews under his belt, and the conversation between Lil Wayne and Eminem was pretty special.
It’s always cool to hear artists interview artists they know, because the listener gets to feel like a fly on the wall and observe celebrities speak more openly. Eminem truly sounded happy to talk to Weezy, and they both seemed comfortable showering each other with compliments.
Several topics were covered in their 20-minute conversation, including life under quarantine, the ESPN docu-series “The Last Dance,” Googling their own lyrics, rethinking lyrics after songs are released, and the pros of getting older in Hip-Hop.
The two highly respected rappers also talked about some new and established artists they’re excited about. Jessie Reyez, Joyner Lucas, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Big Sean, RJ Pain, YBN Cordae and Killer Mike were shouted out, and both Lil Wayne and Eminem expressed deep respect all of the Talent mentioned.
Overall, Eminem sounded super engaged with Lil Wayne, and even asked several questions. Take a look at the video below to hear the full conversation, and to hear Eminem detail his experience winning an Oscar and performing at the Academy Awards.
