Radio programmers from all formats are working really hard to grow listenership among millennials, and there are so many reasons why that audience isn’t attracted to radio. But how can we expect really young listeners to come to radio, when we don’t have the talent they relate to?
Meet Ariana Antonio (left) and Hala Marac (right)–two lively and fresh personalities who have joined forces to represent that #LifestyleOfTheBrokeAndFameless life on-air and on Instagram. I’m not sure how old they are, but they sound young, happy (but not in the annoying way), and they totally feel like two suburban-raised/hip-hop-bred breaths of fresh air.
I hear former legendary Urban Programmer/current WLTW (Lite 106.7)/New York Midday Personality Helen Little mentors the duo, and I really hope that’s true. Hala and Ariana are oozing with potential, so a really strong Programmer should work with them to make them stronger while retaining their spirited on-air delivery.
Hala and Ariana look like they’re in high school, so they would be great assets to connect with young listeners at events and online. Take a listen to their aircheck below, and let’s hope someone gives them a shot in a big market sooner than later.

, I’ve never been in a situation where God took something from me and failed to slide through with an upgrade .
