Rickey Smiley has new new television show in production in Atlanta and Birmingham called “Rickey Smiley For Real.” The hourlong docu-series is will air on TV One, which is owned by Radio One, the parent company of Smiley’s syndicator Reach Media.

In addition to showing Rickey’s life as a single father, viewers will also get to see him interact with “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show” cast members Da Brat, Gary With Da Tea, Headkrack and Juicy, and producer Beyonce Alowishus.

Here’s what Rickey had to say about his transition from his sitcom “The Rickey Smiley Show” to this docu-series:

“After two seasons of working with the ‘ins and outs’ of a scripted series while balancing my radio hosting responsibilities and my personal life, I realized the effort was redundant. There was a better opportunity to share through a reality lens – showing warts and all – my efforts to maintain a satisfactory professional and personal life as a single father and entrepreneur.”

“Rickey Smiley For Real” is set to debut in November.
