There’s an abundance of talented artists releasing music this Fall, and it what’s really interesting about some of these songs and artists is how they are much bigger than one format or genre. Take a look at these great offerings for the season ahead.

THE ARTISTS
Alessia Cara
The buzz around this Canadian singer is deafening, and her genre-less single here has appeal that’s brought it to several formats. “Here” is amazing, and WWPR (Power 105.1)/New York was an early supporter of the single. There’s more great music coming from her, so keep your eyes and ears on her.

Grace
Grace‘s music doesn’t fit neatly into any one genre, but don’t let that deter you from listening to her debut EP “Memo.” Instead of being abstract and disjointed, the project is an effortless blend of the smoothness of R&B, the likability of CHR, and the swag of hip-hop.

The Internet
These California cool kids are affiliated with Odd Future, and deliver beautiful and soulful music. The sound of The Internet isn’t what you would expect when you look at them, but that shouldn’t stop you from listening to their album “Ego Death.” The Internet shows there are millennial artists with substance and appreciation for music making. “Under Control” is getting attention from some Urban AC stations, and “Girl” is a stand out.

Kehlani
Kehlani is everything. Her music is as relatable and beautiful as she is, and it seems like once people take the time to listen to her mixtapes, they get why her fans are so supportive of her movement.

Vic Mensa
Vic Mensa has earned respected from other artists and is beloved by his fans, and he’s going to be a rapper to push the genre forward as Def Jam introduces his music to radio. Even though his videos get millions of hits on YouTube and he’s poised to have a lengthy career, Vic Mensa uses the attention he’s receiving to address issues like police brutality. Look for Vic Mensa to inspire other artists as his star rises.

THE SONGS
Alicia Keys “The Gospel”
Alicia Keys is back with a gritty R&B song that clearly displays her love for hip-hop. “The Gospel” is so good, and you must give it a listen when it’s released this Fall. Or reach out to your RCA rep to ask about a sneak listen!

Boogie “Oh My”
Compton rapper Boogie has a very catchy song called “Oh My” that has the potential to be big. It doesn’t sound like it’s by a West Coast artist, and it’s good fun to listen to.

Deep Cotton “Let’s Get Caught”
Janelle Monae’s roster of artists on Wondaland all have something special to offer. They are artists musically and visually, and if Jidenna’s success and the Wondaland EP are indicators, these performers will have lengthy and successful careers. Deep Cotton’s Wondaland debut “Let’s Get Caught” has a blend of rock and soul, and it’s just a really cool song.

Janine And The Mixtape “Hold Me”
“Hold Me” was featured on an episode of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta,” but there is nothing ratchet about this song by Janine And The Mixtape. The vocals are subtle but not weak, and this is a really beautiful song that should get attention from many formats.

Timbaland Feat. V. Bozeman “Smile”
The beautiful baldheaded singer/actress from “Empire” has been working with Timbaland, and one of the best products of their fruitful collaboration is the uplifting “Smile.” Hearing it will elevate your mood, and it’s a feel-good hit that should be big.

MOST ANTICIPATED
Several sources have reported that an Adele album may be on the way in November, and according to this story, it will feature production by Danger Mouse and Max Martin. With Adele’s string of multi-format hits, her new music is likely to boost music sales and radio listenership.
