Jamie Foxx is so funny and such a great actor, that sometimes we forget how skilled and accomplished he is musically. “Hollywood: A Story Of A Dozen Roses” is Jamie’s newest album and it sounds like he has more songs that will be eventually be added to his future greatest hits tracklist.
What makes “Hollywood” special is that it’s grown without being old, and Jamie does a really good job conveying powerful and light messaging in the lyrics equally effectively.
Here are some thoughts about the songs featured on Jamie Foxx’s new album:
“You Changed Me” Feat. Chris Brown – Easy on the ears with a hook that stays with you after the song ends
“Like A Drum” Feat. Wale – This song is so sexy, and Wale elevates a song that is already great.
“Another Dose” – Sexy mid-tempo joint
“Tease” – Cool song that feels like it could have been inspired by Prince
“Baby’s In Love” Feat. Kid Ink – Album cut that doesn’t sound like it has the potential to be a single, but maintains the vibe of the album
“Text Message” – Beautiful vocals
“Hollywood“- Anther cool album cut
“Vegas Confessions” – Another sexy mid-tempo song with interest vocal effects
“Socialite” – This may not catch your attention at the beginning, but becomes catchy in the last quarter of the song
“In Love By Now” – Beautiful and stripped-down sonically, with lyrics that many single people can probably relate to
“Jumping Out The Window” – Piano-heavy doesn’t feel heavy lyrically
“On The Dot” – Uptempo album cut
