Syndicated personality Rickey Smiley has had several opportunities in television. But his latest project “Rickey Smiley For Real” just might be his most successful.”

Rickey previously hosted BET’s “Comic View” and is also featured on the daily syndicated show “Dish Nation.” While both shows were and are successful, they were not Rickey’s vehicles. And “The Rickey Smiley Show,” his sitcom on TV One delivered the network’s highest ratings at the time, but was shelved after two seasons. Instead of canceling the show, execs decided to revamp it as a docu-series.

“Rickey Smiley For Real” premiered on Tuesday, November 10th, and the feedback on social media was tremendously positive. In addition to showing Rickey’s life with his kids, the TV One program shows life with his co-hosts on “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show.”

By showing Rickey Smiley as he really is along with the cast of characters in his personal and professional life, fans of his standup comedy and listeners of his radio show are getting a chance to make a deeper connection.

While “The Rickey Smiley Show” received mixed reviews on social media, “Rickey Smiley For Real” comments were supportive and favorable. Rickey showing more of himself seems to be working–hopefully the ratings will reflect the positive feedback on social media.
