Wendy Williams’ Past Colleagues React To Her Biopic & Documentary

Wendy Williams shared her journey of going from radio to TV, along with her personal challenges this past weekend on Lifetime. The biopic “Wendy Williams: The Movie” and documentary “Wendy Williams: What A Mess!” that followed were ratings wins for the female-friendly network.

Kelvin Hunter (better known as Kevin Hunter) is Wendy’s ex-husband and former manager. He and their son have kept quiet when it comes to sharing their thoughts about the revealing film and candid documentary. But some of her former radio co-workers have voiced their opinions, and in some cases displeasure, about “Wendy Williams: The Movie.”

Former Power 99 Producer Sarah O’Connor posted her thoughts on Facebook. Here’s part of the message she posted:

I don’t like how Philly was glossed over in Wendy’s biopic. The return to NY would not have been as impactful without Philly. When she got fired out of NY everyone thought it was over for her. Where do you go after getting kicked out of the #1 market? Philly allowed her to reinvent herself. PS–she was NEVER on the air alone in Philly and the station was NEVER in 15th place. She was always a co-host on a morning show in Philly and that’s why she glossed over it. She didn’t want to admit to that part.

Miss Jones and Wendy Williams frequently crossed paths at WQHT (Hot 97)/New York. Jonesy had a lengthy conversation with Wendy’s former producer Skeletor after the biopic and documentary aired, and squeezed as much tea as possible out of him, while recounting some of her notable interactions with Wendy and her ex-husband Kevin Hunter.
